Ashly is one of our longest standing tattoo artists at River City. She draws everything by hand, and if you walked into her booth you’d see it full of dozens of amazing illustrations! She describes her style as a combination of fine line and illustrative realism, and works only in black and grey. She enjoys tattooing flora and fauna, ornate objects, and would love to do more portraits. In her off time she spends time with her three adorable cats and works on a small farm at her home year round. If you ever see one of our shop staff fanning their mouth and screaming for water, it’s because we’ve eaten one of Ashly’s infamous spicy peppers from her harvest

Don has been tattooing since 2001 and came to us at Enigma Studios about a year ago. He specializes in American/Japanese Traditional, bold color, lettering, and black and grey. He welcome all clients in his chair, no matter who you are, and is happy to make accommodations. You know he means it too, because back in the day he made his own vegan inks for his clients before they became popular on the market. When he’s not tattooing, he’s skateboarding with his dog Lucy, going to local punk/metal shows, or playing guitar in a stoner doom sludge band.

River City Tattoo & Piercing Co. was established in 2002 by master piercer Jessica Simmons and has always been on the forefront of the industry in standards of quality and cleanliness. Simmons was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to the Board for Barber’s and Cosmetology as the state representative for the tattooing and body piercing industry, and now serves as an instructor for the Red Cross. In addition to overseeing the RCT Body Piercing Apprenticeship Program and Children’s Piercing Team, Jessica still pierces four days a week at our flagship Blvd location, serves on the board at Culture Works and is expanding her line of all natural piercing aftercare products.
